Great app for the people who are interested into geography and history. This app should be used in class!

Maps with a lot of details and high quality images.

One has to mention that those maps are actually very old maps and not maps about a certain time in history, made nowadays. This why those maps are more over of historical importance instead of being informative.

Zoom does not work making the app useless. Landsacape only.

Zoom works over wifi connection and is therefore slow. Improved local caching would make this app more useful.

Froze my iPod twice

Looking at a map is interesting but no one wants just an overview; they want to see each country and body of water. I was really keen to download this application but its low resolution makes it unappealing to zoom in to view anything specific. Ive since deleted it but would add and view it more if the map resolutions were increased.

What a dismal app. It has a great concept and potential, but is so poorly made that I had to get it off my iPod as soon as possible. First of all, this app is low resolution & painfully slow. Also, as opposed to "world maps," this app is essentially the Western world (mostly Europe) plus a little bit of China. If youre looking for Africa, the Middle East, the Americas, or Asia, chances are youll be disappointed. This app is good if you want historical maps of Europe and important WWII battle sites, but thats about it.

If you have public domain content and you can not display faster than a web browser, then you should not push your app. I agree with others, it lacks fair titles compared to the actual content. This is a small world if you use this app.

It must be named "map of western world" ! Disappointing to ignore more than 60% of the world!! Beside It is slow.

Excellent app and FREE. If all the clowns below complaining about the app, then you catalog all the maps, make an app without ads and put it up on app store for FREE. Otherwise shut the hell up.

But boring and waste of time...

This is highly instructive to learn how Russia is and already was wishfully absent from this particular version of the World history, where only Western European peoples of Germano-Romanic origins always are and were the only active subjects. This is a goood history lesson for Russians to do not delude thrmselves, and to do not forget the millenarian cultural racism of their Western Christian white brethern.

This WAS a good app. Description of latest update says its adding an ad banner. Screw that! Deleted without even bothering with the update. Bad move. Not good policy to make a useful app undesirable.
